I did neglect to emphasize one thing: In the same way that people just blindly believe in milk helping build strong bones, they blindly believe in religion. Remember, these people are surrounded by other people who believe in the religion and they're told anyone who doesn't believe is anything from wrong, possessed or even deserving of death.
